The short answer, YES! Park Strips have always been a difficult area to water. A significant amount of the water ends up on either the sidewalk or in the road. An average Park Strip requires over 100 gallons of water per watering cycle to keep nice and green. If you water 3 times per week like most areas allow that is over 9,000 Gallons of water over the watering season. That's enough to fill a 18 foot diameter backyard pool! It is worth it to "Flip the Strip" and help save Utah's most precious resource.
There are several requirements for the Flip the Strip rebate. First, most watering districts require that you have a healthy lawn in the park strip prior to proceeding. Other requirements like a certain percentage of plant life, different allowed materials, and drip irrigation may also be required in your water district. Many other districts also require that the home owner attend a short "water wise" class in person in order to qualify.
MTN Home Pros provides all necessary documentation of the Park Strip Flip process. However, we highly encourage you to develop a relationship with your water district to ensure compliance of your park strip flip.

MTN Home Pros provides a completely documented process from start to finish of each Park Strip Flip project we do. Each project consists of 5 phases:
1 - Documentation/Design: Once a proposal is accepted MTN Home Pros gets right to work contacting Utility Marking, documenting the current condition of the yard, finalizing design, and scheduling a start date.
2 - Demolition: Sprinklers are capped and/or removed and existing sod is removed clear down to the root. Typically this requires an over-excavation of 1-3 inches depending on grass maturity.
3 - Installation: During this phase new drip irrigation is installed, plant life is installed, and a commercial grade weed barrier is also installed.
4 - Finish: Beautiful Decorative Rock Product or Mulch is installed to cap off the project and finalize the project. MTN Home Pros ensures that the project is clean and all debris and waste is removed. You'll never know we were there, except for your beautiful new landscaping!
5 - Final Documentation: MTN Home Pros sends you all necessary documentation once final payment is received. This includes before/after photos, a list of products used, the total square footage completed, and the potential water savings.
